Take Action! DC’s money problems affect everything we care about! 

The revenue shortfall in our city is causing real pain for residents and communities, and unless we tax concentrated wealth in DC, these challenges are only going to deepen even further the racial and economic injustices that exist in the District. In this moment, we have the opportunity to take action to make meaningful change in this area!

After years of pressure alongside our Just Recovery DC coalition partners, the DC Council is finally holding a hearing on Friday, October 16 on proposals to raise revenue. However, community voice is being left out, and only witnesses with specific expertise on taxes are being invited. The technical piece is only half the picture, though! The other half is the effect on our people if we don’t tax those who can afford it. We need to show up at the Wilson Building on hearing day and make our presence known to support funding our priorities.
